This program is a wonderful opportunity for volunteer teams to minister in the work of our Lord. This is done through visits to communities and/or orphanages to encourage and support these local ministries. The encouragement and support the ministry teams offer is in the form of work projects, prayer, preaching, music, and fellowship to the children and adults in need.
PIA helps to facilitate the team visit by assisting with the planning for housing, food, and other considerations associated with the area. Coordination of the actual project is also part of the ministry team support with PIA acting as the communications agent between the ministry team and the ministry project.
The duration of the team visits can be from two days to several months.
All transportation, project material costs, food costs, and any housing fees are to be provided by the volunteer team.
Internship Program
As part of the Ministry Team program, PIA has a limited future internship program that offers a long-term or a short-term mission training experience. The internship experience is planned to include language training and the opportunity to be part of a mission's project. The intern would be expected to raise their own support from their home church and community. The intern would also be held accountable by their home church and PIA office.
2010 Opportunities
We will be visiting four countries in 2010: Ethiopia, Uganda, Swaziland, and Mexico. We plan on visiting once a quarter for the entire year. For more information on each specific trip, click the country of interest to find more detail.
