Emerging from decades of internal and external conflict, Cambodia is one of the poorest, most vulnerable countries in East Asia. More than one third of Cambodians live below the poverty line, struggling to survive on less than $1 a day. Poverty is especially pervasive in rural areas and among children, who constitute more than half of the country's population according to UNICEF.

CHO envisions a complete network of strong, hope-filled communities where adequate physical, psychological, and spiritual welfare is enjoyed by all formerly vulnerable individuals.
